Neutrogena Triple Repair Hair Care System Review

First things first. I received this product free of charge from BzzAgent in exchange for my honest opinions.

I received the Neutrogena Triple Repair Fortifying shampoo, conditioner and leave-in treatment.

I have very thick, curly, frizzy and damaged hair.  I need products that will minimize the frustrations that come everyday with my hair type.

I must be honest and let you know that I am very skeptical of the typical drug store brands of hair care.  I haven't been very successful with them in the past.  Needles to say, I was skeptical of this product, as well.  It also made me nervous that the package sizes were small in my opinion for shampoo and conditioner.  With my hair, I usually have to use a lot of product to feel like I am getting my hair clean.

The Shampoo

When I first used the shampoo, my initial impressions weren't that great, but they were better than I imagined.  I could feel the texture was thicker than most other brands, but not too thick, so that was a plus.  It definitely has a good scent to it, not overpowering, but just enough to make me feel good when I use it. I am a sucker for a good scent. It lathered in my hair very well and it really felt like it was more of a high quality shampoo than other brands, and that made me very happy.

My problem came during the rinse.  My hair didn't have that silky soft feeling that I was hoping for, but I also wasn't surprised.  It felt very straw like and kind of like a squeaky clean feeling, which is something I don't like for my hair.

The Conditioner

My first impressions of the conditioner are pretty much the same as the shampoo.  The texture was thick, but not too thick.  To me this is a very important factor in a conditioner.  The scent of the conditioner is the same as the shampoo which I do like very much.  It does smooth through my hair very nicely and I actually do not have to use a whole lot, which is a very good benefit in my opinion because I do have a lot of hair and with most products, I do have to use a lot.

My problem is the same as the shampoo, which is the rinse.  I like for my hair to feel softer after the use of conditioner, and it really didn't when I was rinsing it out.  This disappointed me.

The Leave-In Treatment

Now here is where my skepticism became surprised.  The leave-in treatment is what did it for me.  The thickness of this product, like the other two, was perfect.  The scent is also perfect, just like the shampoo and conditioner, not overpowering at all.  I was able to apply this throughout my hair without using a lot.

With my hair, the frizz is an everyday occurrence and I really haven't found anything, for a reasonable price that can control it and make me feel like I have pretty hair.  I do not like having to put things like mousse or gel into my hair, so I am happy to say that when I use this product, it is all I have to put into my hair to make me feel pretty.

The Whole System

As of today, I have been using the Neutrogena Triple Repair hair care system for eleven days, every day.  In the beginning I said that the shampoo and conditioner disappointed me during the rinse, but after continuous use, this initial disappointment doesn't apply anymore.  With each day, my hair started to feel softer after rinsing and I have to say, that I could feel it getting stronger, too.  The texture of my hair just began to improve and I am amazed that a product that is so affordable can do this for my hair.  I wish I would have taken a before picture, but I was so eager to try it, that I didn't.  My after picture isn't that great (I just do not take good pictures), but I think it shows how good my hair looks after using this product. More curly than frizzy :)

(After)

Because of my initial disappointment, I am only giving this product 4 out of 5 stars, but it is a product I will recommend to anyone who is in serious need of hair repair.

Until next time...

Regards,

Amy

Coffee Break

Happy Sunday!

So, one thing you may not know is that I am very particular about what coffee mugs I use.  They have to appeal to me and it is usually the design that grabs me.  I thought it would be fun to share fun coffee mugs with you now and again (some I own and some I want to won).

Here is the one that I just bought yesterday from Home Goods.

I thought it was so cute with the holder and coffee all over it :)

Until next time...

Amy

Organize Your Life Week - Tabletop Spinning Cosmetic Organizer by Lori Greiner Review

Happy Saturday!

The second segment in the Organize Your life Week theme.

Today I will be reviewing the Tabletop Spinning Cosmetic Organizer by Lori Greiner.

(All of my makeup that I need to find a place for)

(The empty organizer)

I am not typically what you could call an organized person.  This is why I needed to find something that was easy to use and that would fit my needs when it comes to putting my makeup in an organized manner that was still convenient.

I purchased the organizer form QVC for About $30 and I couldn't wait until it arrived.  Once it did, I immediately started to put my makeup in it.  I was finally going to be organized.

Above you can see the different angles of the organizer after I put my makeup into it.  As you can see, all of my stuff fit into it with room to spare on the top.  I do have to say that I am a little disappointed in this product because each of the shelves are angled and it makes it so you really can't fit a lot into each shelf.  The compartmented shelves do not fit my Bare Minerals round pots, except in the middle one and only 1 or 2, depending on the size.  The other shelves are at such an angle, that I can't fit them into it in a manner that makes it efficient.  Also the bottom part, that is shown as empty above, goes all the way to the other side, and I don't care for that much because my items can just move around.

Basically the only part of this organizer that I really like is the top part.  It can fit everything from lipsticks/glosses to brushes.  This section does work like it should and there is plenty of room for all of your brushes and lip products and also eyeliners and mascara, too.

For right now, at least my stuff isn't laying around on my counter, but I believe that this product needs severe improvement for me to recommend it to anyone else.  When they advertise it they do say that every makeup product is shaped differently and might not fit, but in my opinion, it doesn't fit any makeup product very well, except for the top section.

I give it a 5 out 10.

Until next time...

Regards,

Amy

The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Body Butter Review

Happy Saturday!!

I have had severely dry skin all of my life, especially on my legs. I have been looking for a product that could tackle the dryness and at the same time keep my skin feeling soft all day. I also prefer a product that has a refreshing or soothing scent versus an unscented product because it is a pick-me-up throughout the day.

Well, I have finally found that product. The Body Shop pink grapefruit body butter is everything I have been looking for and more. For starters, the scent is a light refreshing grapefruit scent that just makes me feel good, especially during this harsh winter. It is not overpowering at all but just right. The next great thing about this product is how quickly and easily it is absorbed into my skin. It goes on so smoothly and takes know time at all to be completely rubbed in. I put this product on when I get out of the shower, after I apply body oil and I also apply it again before bedtime. My skin has never felt so soft before. This product does keep my skin soft and smooth all day and I get light hints of the scent throughout the day, as well.

There is another amazing thing about this product and that is that it doesn't leave me feeling greasy, which I have experienced before with other products. I honestly never thought that I could find a product that offers everything I was looking for, but I did with this one. I do give it a 10 out of 10 and I recommend it to everyone.

Until next time...

Regards,

Amy

Coffee Break

So let me introduce you to my new obsession....

Pink Grapefruit body butter and beautifying oil from The Body Shop!!

I just discovered these wonderful products yesterday and I am in love.

I went out and bought the oil, since I couldn't get the Organix coconut oil body mist, and I got a sample of the body butter.

I had to go back today and buy the body butter because I loved it THAT much.

The combination of the oil and then the body butter makes my skin so soft and I can't forget to mention the scent is the perfect pick me up during this harsh winter.

I recommend for you to try these products (in whichever scent you prefer) because you will be amazed.

Regards,

Amy

Organize Your Life Week - eMeals Meal Planning Review

I have decided to have a theme this week and I have chosen organizing.  I will post about a few different ways to organize your life starting with dinner.

So, I am one of those people who absolutely does not like to grocery shop or plan out the meals my family will be eating throughout the week.  We have been in a food rut for years now, always eating the same boring things every week.  I couldn't take it anymore and I had to do something about it.

My solution started when I received an email from Groupon and one of the deals was 12 months of meal planning from eMeals for $29, which is half off the normal price of $58.  This was not something that I could pas up, so I bought it.

What is eMeals?  eMeals is a meal planning website that provides you with a menu each week that includes seven meals, including recipes and a grocery list that is sorted by category.  They currently have 13 categories of meal plans to choose from including gluten-free and vegetarian.

Sample Menu with grocery list

The plan I purchased only includes dinner, but for a small additional fee you can add breakfast, lunch or dessert.

I selected the classic plan for my family and we have been using it since the beginning of January.  It has been a lifesaver for us as we now eat such a variety of different foods and a lot of fresh ingredients.

Another great thing about eMeals is that you can change your meal plan selection whenever you want.  This way you can try the different plans and find out which one you prefer.

I definitely feel good about being able to make delicious meals for my family that they also enjoy eating.

As of this post, Groupon is sold out of the 12 months for $29 deal, but for $49, you can get 12 months of breakfast, lunch and dinner.  With this deal, you save $93. You can find this deal here.

I hope you take advantage of this fabulous meal planning service, if this is what you are looking for.

Until next time...

Amy

Coffee Break

Happy Sunday!!!

So it is apparent that the product I most want to try at this moment is inevitably unavailable.

This product is Organix Coconut Oil Weightless Hydrating Oil Body Mist.

Yesterday I went to Meijer, Ulta and CVS and none of them had it.  I don't know if Meijer or CVS even carried it, but Ulta does and their shelf was empty.

Ulta has it online, but you know there are just times when you don't want to pay almost the price of the item to have it shipped to you.

I hope to find it soon.  Has anybody ever tried it?  If so, what are your thoughts?

Regards,

Amy
