It's Been Awhile, I know...

Well Hello Again,

It has been quite a while since I have posted, but I have been super crazy busy.  Between work and school and the family, I just couldn't find the time.

I finished my semester of school on June 19 and that made a huge difference.   I made the mistake of overextending myself and took two classes at the same time.  Normally this wouldn't have been a problem, except I was also working full time.  Last month my manager resigned, so me and two of my coworkers were tasked with being the interim management team.  This was a very overwhelming task for me while I was attending school.  The good news is that I did great in my two classes, even though I didn't think I was going to in one of them.

My question to all of you is how do you stay organized with everything that goes on in your daily lives?  If any of you are working and going to school, what are some tips you can offer?  I can use all the help I can get.

With the situation at work, I can definitely say that I am not quite ready to move into a management role at this time.  I would rather leave it to someone who can handle it.  It takes a certain kind of person to lead a team and my previous manager was that person.  It has been a hard road since she left, but one that taught me some things about my self.  In hindsight, it was a great learning experience.

In other news, Ryan is now a Freshman in high school.  I am completely terrified!  He is a sweet, kind, respectful young man, and I fear that high school will treat him unkindly.  I am hoping that it will not be as bad as I have heard and that I fear it will be.  I make sure not to let him see my fear, for I know it will not help him with this transition. Is anybody also sending their child to high school for the first time?  If so, what are some of your fears and how are you and your child preparing for this transition?  How about someone who has already gone through this what advice do you have to offer us fearful parents?  I know I could use some help.

Oh, I almost forgot, we got a new kitten.  Her name is Chloe and she is a sweet little hyper thing.  Declan is having the most difficult time adjusting, but I have high hopes that he will get over it soon.  In case you couldn't tell, I love cats!

Until next time.....

Regards,

Amy

Coffee Break

Good Afternoon!!

I really needed an afternoon pick me up today.  Cinnamon Dolce Latte does the trick for me.  My allergies were acting up so I took a benadry and now I am drowsy.  Not good when I still have 2 1/2 hours left of work, so I decided it was coffee break time.

What is your favorite afternoon pick me up?

Amy

Campbells Go (TM) Soup Review

Good Morning Everyone,

I received a sample of Campbell's Go Soup from Smiley360 in exchange for honest reviews and promoting on social media and in person.

The flavor I received is Spicy Chorizo and Pulled Chicken with Black Beans.  I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised with this product.  I was skeptical at first because the flavor varieties didn't really appeal to me, but I am always up for trying something new.

My favorite thing about this soup is the convenience of heating it up.  Just vent and microwave for 2-2 1/2 minutes.  Then just pour into a bowl.  Simple as that.  Since I work in an office this is of utmost importance to me.  The flavor to me was absolutely perfect.   It wasn't an overpowering spiciness, but just the right amount of spice.  I liked all of the elements in the soup, like the corn and the black beans.  I found this soup to be a very hearty soup.

The portion size was great, too.  There was enough to fill me up, but not too much where I felt like I couldn't, (or shouldn't) eat it all.

I will definitely be buying this flavor of Go Soup again, but the other flavors still do not sound too appetizing to me.  My only suggestion would be for Campbell's to create some more flavors that might appeal to everyone.

Coffee Break

So, today's flavor is Green Mountain Breakfast Blend with Almond Joy creamer.  The perfect pick me up for this rainy day.

It is only 2 days until we leave for our Tampa vacation.  We are driving, so that should make for some interesting and beautiful scenery.  We bought the boys some travel games and of course they will have their DS.  I will have my kindle fire to keep me occupied.

What kinds of things do you bring on road trips to make the time in the car fun?

Regards,

Amy

Teenage Boys & Puberty

So Ryan is 14 now and it seems that he is enjoying (well, I don’t know if that is the right word for it) the first signs of puberty.  After all, he has been caught singing “I got a feeling in my pants and I don’t like it”.  Aaaahhhh!!  Since he is my first child and a boy, I am not really sure what this is like for him.  I wasn’t sure where to start because he is shy about discussing it with me or his dad.  Embarrassment, I presume.  I really don’t know exactly what he learned in the school health classes, so I decided to have him read an article about what he should expect when it comes to his body changing.  I figured, since I don’t know what he should expect, he needed something to help him.

There were definitely some giggles coming out of him from reading the article, but at least he was learning something about his body that he didn’t know before.  It seemed to help him better understand what he would be going through and he opened up a smidgen about his concerns.

I would like to think that I am not alone when it comes to not being very knowledgeable when it comes to puberty and boys, but I don’t know.  Am I?

Does anybody have any other ideas on how to help prepare our teenage sons for puberty?  Leave me a comment and maybe we can help each other.

Until next time...

Regards,

Amy

Welcome

I have been thinking about starting a blog for a while now , but didn't really know where to start or what to do.  I still really don't, but I thought I would just jump right in and see if I sink or swim.  For anyone who knows me, they would find that terminology quite funny, as I do not know how to swim.  I know, right!  What 35 year old doesn't know how to swim? Well, anyways, moving on  now that I have shared my deepest, darkest secret with all of you :)  I hope to have informative and fun things to bring to you.  Enjoy!!

Regards,

Amy
